Altreva in Science

Besides by traders and investors, Adaptive Modeler is also being used in the scientific community. Academics are among our customers (see User Comments) and Adaptive Modeler appears in studies, literature and presentations from universities and research institutions. Some examples are given below. Last but not least, we offer a 50% academic discount (see Store).

20 Nov 2023 - Adaptive Modeler was used in a study to examine the impact of financial contagion on financial stability and human well-being in Romania. Specifically Adaptive Modeler was used to explore the BET-FI index behavior and its interactions with other economic and social indicators. The study was done by the Department of Economic Informatics and Cybernetics, Bucharest University of Economic Studies and published in MDPI risks 2023 and is freely available.

28 Mar 2017 - In a review of 86 state-of-the-art agent-based modeling and simulation software tools, Altreva Adaptive Modeler was found to offer the highest computational modeling strength and scalability level versus model development effort. Published in Computer Science Review 24 (2017).

9 Aug 2015 - Altreva Adaptive Modeler appeared in a peer-reviewed open access paper "Simulating An Evolutionary Multi-Agent Based Model Of The Stock Market" by Diana Marica, published in Ecoforum Journal, Vol 4 (2015), Special Issue 1.

12 Nov 2013 - Altreva Adaptive Modeler was used in a peer-reviewed study published as "The Implications of Trader Cognitive Abilities on Stock Market Properties" by Viktor Manahov, Mona Soufian and Robert Hudson in Intelligent Systems in Accounting, Finance and Management (Nov 2013).

4 Oct 2013 - Altreva Adaptive Modeler was used to demonstrate predictability and profitability of technical trading in the high frequency foreign exchange markets, and was found superior to traditional econometric forecasting models. Published as "New Evidence of Technical Trading Profitability" by Viktor Manahov and Robert Hudson in Economics Bulletin, 2013, Volume 33, Issue 4.

1 Oct 2013 - Altreva Adaptive Modeler was used in the peer-reviewed study "Herd behaviour experimental testing in laboratory artificial stock market settings. Behavioural foundations of stylised facts of financial returns" by Viktor Manahov and Robert Hudson of Newcastle University Business School, UK, published in Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, Volume 392, Issue 19.

28 Jan 2011 - Adaptive Modeler cited in award winning paper "Key Points For Realistic Agent-Based Financial Market Simulations", Iryna Veryzhenko, Philippe Mathieu and Olivier Brandouy, Proceedings of the third International Conference on Agents and Artificial Intelligence (ICAART 2011)

8 Dec 2010 - Altreva Adaptive Modeler was cited in the book "Introduction to Complexity and Complex Systems" by Professor Emeritus Robert B. Northrop, as an example of Agent-based Modeling applied to stock market trading.

7 Mar 2009 - Adaptive Modeler mentioned in presentation about agent-based modeling at POSTECH by Samsung Economic Research Institute - Center of Complex Systems.

26 May 2008 - Adaptive Modeler was used in a study to demonstrate increased complexity of trading rules in an evolutionary forecasting model during a critical period of a company's history. ("Low Correlations between Dividends and Returns: The Alitalia's Case", Federico Cecconi and Stefano Zappacosta, IASTED Proceeding Modelling and Simulation 2008, ACTA Press).
